Il termine Smart Cities è ormai di uso comune e diffuso nei paesi sviluppati (America ed Europa in primis) quanto nei Paesi emergenti, Asia (Cina, India) ed Emirati Arabi. Nel contesto internazionale, risulta però difficile individuare una definizione univoca di ciò che si intende per “smart city”.
